When the loyalties remain constant, but the content inconsistent, you know that something has gone wrong.
Patriotism 200 years ago, is not the same thing as patriotism 10 years ago, and patriotism 10 years ago is not the same as patriotism now. During slavery, there was patriotism, during the quasi-libertarian era of the 19th century there was patriotism, during the confinement of the Japanese there was patriotism, and now when the United States is the worlds largest and most deadly government the world has ever seen, patriotism still remains.
Is it even worth pointing out the the word patriotism is completely meaningless? That is has never once meant the same thing one year from the next? Patriotism is rooted in nothing. It is the love of authority due to the mere chance that you were born with in a certain geographical location, and has about as much substance as as your favorite sports team.
However, lets assume that the United States has been consistent, and provided us with great service. Very well then, in which case patriotism is irrelevant, my loyalty would not be the the United Stated but simply how effectively they provide me with service. Toyota does not thrive by demanding my undying loyalty by taking my money and asking me to die for its causes, it thrives by providing services and satisfying needs and desires.
Not only am I supposed to do what I am told due to a gun to my head, but I am supposed to praise the person for holding it! However, I refuse. I will comply with authority due to the threat of death and violence as the only alternative, however, I will never accept it as valid, moral, or virtuous.
You are not a “nation”, “society”, “class” or “race” you are an individual and any loyalty to the group (nation, society, class or race) is always at the expense to a loyalty to the truth.
Only a nagging parasite demands respect completely divorced form its actions (or demands your respect, and love at all). You did not choose to be born in America, you did not choose men to die in war, you did not choose to be taxed, you did not cause the national debt, on what grounds are they entitled to your devotion and respect? On what grounds can they force you to pay their taxes, obey their laws, and fight their wars and call you unpatriotic as if its demeaning?
They thrive by subjugating the individual, the truth, and everything that makes life beautiful and honest. Your self respect, and your patriotism are at direct odds with one another.

This is a very interesting blog that you have here. It's important that their are blogs out there who hold a very strong opinion towards certain issues.
I have a site myself where anyone can freely express their opinion towards controversial issues. I'm telling you this because I believe that you can provide others with some valuable insight towards some issues.
Keep up the good work, and maybe we can do a link exchange.
Sincerely,
Jason
